Immigration Evaluations

Do you need an immigration evaluation? I provide immigration evaluations for the following:

  • U-Visa

  • T-Visa

  •  VAWA

  • Extreme Hardship

  • Asylum

  • Cancellation of Removal

If you have been the victim of a crime, have suffered physically or emotionally, or have survived other extreme hardships, it is important to get support. Immigration evaluations help identify the emotional impacts of the challenges you have experienced and the impacts your experiences have had on important areas of your life such as work, familial duties, and physical and mental wellbeing.

An immigration evaluation includes:

  • Gathering important background information about your situation

  • Trauma informed clinical mental health assessments to identify mental health symptoms and the psychological impacts of past and current difficulties

  • Multiculturally conscious interpretations of assessment results

  • Recommendations for ongoing mental health treatment

  • Referrals to other community resources that may be helpful

  • Thorough and timely reports

If you are in need of an immigration assessment to help better understand the psychological impacts of your past experiences and current hardships, please reach out today. A psychological evaluation for asylum, a U-Visa or T-Visa, an extreme hardship waiver, cancellation of removal, or VAWA can help you better understand how you have been impacted by your past. This helps with finding tools and resources for getting the support needed to move forward.

Immigration evaluations are conducted by Lauren Borkowski, Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado. Lauren has worked extensively with immigrants in educational and mental health settings and has an MA in Counseling with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health. Lauren's areas of clinical expertise are anxiety and stress related disorders, which includes trauma and the many impacts that trauma has on mental, physical, and social wellbeing.

Talking about the past can be hard. Lauren's approach to working with clients is calm, warm, and accepting. She offers a safe place to tell your story and can help you find the words to describe your situation. Oftentimes, stress or trauma gets buried because it's so challenging to think about it. Discussing it in a safe place with a trained professional helps with the process of healing and moving forward.

Immigration assessments are conducted in person in Longmont, Colorado or virtually. If an interpreter is needed, please discuss this with Lauren.
